Bosc dels Menairons — Ruta Macarulla

The Menairons are small magical beings from Andorran folklore and the Catalan mountain imagination. According to legend, they inhabit the forests of the Pyrenees and are credited with all kinds of supernatural abilities. The Macarulla trails offer something different from a simple walk: children, transformed into explorers, follow a guide notebook to discover the fantastic world of these creatures. You can find the notebook (€1) at the tourism offices in La Massana.

The route runs 4 km through the forest with a gentle elevation gain of 125 meters. Easy, circular, and well-marked. The elements you'll find along the way — playful and artistic installations — are designed by local artists and craftspeople using noble, environmentally-friendly materials. No plastic theme park stuff: everything here blends in with the landscape.

Accessible from mid-spring through autumn. In winter, you can also do it with snowshoes or special footwear.

When finished, the little ones earn their Macarulla diploma — downloadable online. A way to keep the adventure going beyond just the mountain.

Remember to bring water and a leash for your furry friend: in Andorra's natural spaces, dogs must always be kept on a leash.
