Macarulla: Piero y la Reina Pitavola

Piero needs to become a butterfly, and you can help him. This 2 km circular route starts from the Paliquerons bridge, on Camí Ral at the foot of Ordino, and climbs up the Collet dels Colls path between agricultural land and forest.

The elevation gain is the main challenge here: although it's only 2 km, the section that crosses the forest has demanding uphill and downhill stretches — which is why it's classified as difficult. Nothing that can't be managed with good footwear and a steady pace.

Along the way, children discover the world of Andorran butterflies: species, habitat, life cycle and transformation. All with the guide notebook (€1 at tourism offices) and playful elements integrated into the landscape.

At the end of the route you can visit the hermitage of Santa Bàrbara, and Ordino is just a stone's throw away with its museums and terraces.
