The most demanding climb in the Grandvalira area: 3.8 km with almost 700 meters of elevation gain up to the 2,816 meters of Pic Negre. Views of France, the Pyrenees, and all of Andorra from the summit.
La Ruta
Pic Negre d'Envalira is one of the four peaks on the Envalira ridge, on the border between Andorra and France. At 2,816 meters, it is one of the most complete climbs you can do from Pas de la Casa — and one of the most rewarding in terms of views.
The route starts from Pas de la Casa at 2,120 meters altitude, which already cuts down part of the work. It climbs 696 meters over 3.8 km following yellow markers: first toward the lake of les Abelletes and from there via the Port dels Isards to the summit. The final stretch has its challenges, but nothing that requires technical equipment outside the season.
With a dog it's feasible if your companion is in good shape. The path has no climbing sections but does have areas of loose rock in the upper part. Recommended from late June to late September.
Localización
Start from Pas de la Casa, the highest town in Andorra, which you reach via the CG-2 from Encamp. The route begins in the town and is marked with yellow signs. Parking available in Pas de la Casa.
