Reserva Natural de les Llaunes

This route is located within the Aiguamolls de l'Empòrda Natural Park, between the towns of Sant Pere Pescador and Empuriabrava. It is a freshwater reserve with a rich and diverse ecosystem, due to its proximity to the Mediterranean coast, running through ponds and former rice paddies, teeming with birds.

It is a circular route of 8 km, with no elevation changes and suitable for the whole family. The estimated time does not exceed half a day, at a leisurely pace.

During the months of April, May and June, due to bird nesting, the route is closed. As an alternative, you can do a round trip section between Cortalet and the mouth of the Fluvià.

Additionally, in summer dogs are not allowed on the beach, but you can continue along the section that follows the river course inland. 70 km of hiking trails available, with calm pools and green areas where you can rest and your furry friend can cool off. Much better than the crowded beach in the middle of July and August.

At Cortalet there is an information center open from October to March from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and from April to September from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Closed on December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 6.
